I was moved by the story of Lucy Grealy. It was a sad story about her struggle growing up with a deformity caused by cancer. I went ahead and did a little research on her. I was wondering why she had died at such a young age as mentioned in the introduction to her story. She died of a heroin overdose. I just googled her and it was interesting to see pictures of her. She was actually a beautiful woman. There is some controversy over her death and the writings about her afterward. It was just interesting to learn a little more about the author of such a sad story.
